yesteryear of Bollywood and have a look how it has evolved over years from
1940s to 2016 .
The
1940's
Remember Meena kumari? She had the very elegant look of
wrapped up Saree along with that balloon stipped blouse. This was the time when
Madhubala along with Nargis and others came as the most iconic fashion characters who had changed the way fashion was taken. In this period for the first time a women was seen in crop top and a skirt. Times started to change since then.
The 1950's
The hangover of the British Raj remained, which led the way
for classy fashion. Neat buns & hairstyles, Corset blouses and gowns,
elegant Sarees, Anarkalis were all a part of that decade that curved the way
for popular fashion.
The
1960's
This was the time when bikini s came on screen with Sharmila Tagore. Along with her came up the famous style of Madhubala in her famous orange sari. This was a trend setter among the young teens who started to follow her in this manner.
The
1970's
This decade saw the bohemian look of zenath aman and others
who came across with new fashion lines. Bell bottom went quiet a viral during
this regime. Apart from this the look of
the movie bobby went viral.
Chiffon sarees, glossed up lips, heavy make were just what
went on as the trend during this time. Rekha, Hema Malini and Sridevi were the
goddesses of fashion and was the sensation of the era. The fitter Salwars and
the high pony fashion marks the most highlighted period of the era.
The 1990’s
The 90’s marked the entry of cool fashion wear. With
jumpsuits and sportswear coming in this era showed of brands for the first
time. Movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hain and other had a huge effect among the
young stars about the new brand status. The 2000’s
This was the era when designer wear came out to be famous.
Budding designers like Nekki Nerula, Manish Malhotra came up as the start s of
the era. Short skirts , micros and minis ruled the decade.
The 2010’s
Fashion just took a new turn with this era, new beauties
with a brand new avatar came up. No specific genera is followed in this era,
rather a trend of fusion wear has come up. Mix and match are hot on fire and so
are the fashions for shorts.

Bollywood have changed over the
years, and so are the trends. Few trends went by and few are again back! We
took a journey that covered the most. The fashions have been turned out to be
more of fusion these days from womens ethnic wear to western wear in India.
